Jen’s Garden

Aidan had his first quail and loved it, Lowell had the salmon but he was fascinated by Aidan’s quail. Overall the food was great and the service was outstanding – no dirty looks when the boys walked in. They treated them like little men. Beats many Portland restaurants for a town of 2000. (The rack of lamb rocked)

Departure

The boys have been here before and it was awesome again. We’ve never ordered anything we didn’t like. Well, none of is are big on the meatballs, although we can’t really articulate why. The boys favorites hands down were the Dungeness crab fried rice and the shumai. Me and dad liked the crab fried rice and the Spring rolls. The scallops and wasabi beef were good, but the crab fried rice is always the best! And nothing beats tempura battered banana, butterscotch and peanut brittle ice cream!!! They are nice to the kids, but get there early!!

Tapalaya

This is not the dudes first time year, but it’s the first time since they started blogging. Great casual atmosphere, and the staff are always great. The food is consistently good, and for dinner it’s great for trying things and sharing because it’s small plates. We are here for lunch and they don’t have the small plates, so the boys got PoBoys (crawfish for Aidan and Shrimp for Lowell). Mom got the Gumbo and dad got the Muffaletta. Everything was wonderful, although the Gumbo had a little too much heat for the dudes. And after the corn bread, sweet potato fries and garlic bread the dudes could barely eat their sandwiches!
