Stars Steak House

This place was a quaint, small, local restaurant with great service and an amazing staff treated our boys really well. We got there just in time, when we were leaving there was a line and wait to get in. Now in this restaurants defense, our boys are pretty much fooded out, but they did absolutely love the buttered bread, and when we say “buttered bread” we mean bread drenched in a pool of butter with salt on top. If they had their way they would’ve eaten only that. But they enjoyed their catfish, they loved the bread pudding, and they liked the seafood gumbo. We were a little bit surprised that they were out of shrimp. As Mark commented – it’s like a pizza place being out of pepperoni. But overall it was a very enjoyable meal and the boys had a great time!

The Rib Room

The atmosphere was wonderful. The service was outstanding. Aidan had the coil appetizer and Lowell had the seafood Gratin. Lola wasn’t tremendously big on seafood Gratin, but Aidan scarfed the quail up like nobody’s business. For their entrées the dudes both had the eggs Benedict with crawfish, crab, and andouille sausage and mom and dad tasted it, it was to die for. The dudes also loved it. It was by far the most popular dish amongst the whole table. Aidan had the egg nog crème brûlée with a gingerbread way for, and Loel had the chocolate chip P con pie. Both were a hit. And as so often happens, mom and dad ordered right for the boys – we ordered the prime rib which amazingly, was not medium rare and was a little bit overdone. It was by far the best meal of the boys have had so far here!

Arnaud’s

Aidan ordered the fresh fish, and Lowell ordered the duck with blueberry sauce. They ended up trading but they loved it. The bacon wrapped deep-fried oysters were to die for along with the deviled eggs and pretty much everything else we ate. By far the best meal that we’ve had so far. The dudes wore their first suits to this family dinner, and only got a little bit of food all over them!!

Brennan’s

Aidan will be starting with the sweet breads and having the seared tuna for his entre. Lolo is going to have his first frog legs followed by some crispy chicken. I can’t wait to see how this plays out!!! Ok, so the sweet breads were a hit, the frog legs not so much, and both dudes weren’t that impressed with their entres, although Aidan somewhat liked the duck. We tried. The dudes were much more impressed with Arnaud’s.
